    I’ve now been back at work for two weeks, and I’ve been catching the bus each day. It isn’t the worst thing in the world, and I’ve even managed to coordinate getting to the physio in Belconnen.

    I haven’t taken any new photos this week. Just haven’t had the chance so far. I plan on taking some later this coming week at Enlighten, but for now I am still going through Europe photos.

    I did upload three new photos to Displate, and they were all approved ?

    I also ordered three new Displate prints for myself.

    I got back from my trip earlier this week, but I don’t go back until Monday. I haven’t been up to much this week, still gettin over a chest infection and food poisoning.

    I have managed to move my jetlag affected wake up time from 4AM to 6AM, so that’s nice.

    In efforts to ease my way back into work after nearly two months off I’ve caught up with friends to catch up on all the goings ons, and found my new desk.

    What photos have I taken?

    I haven’t taken any photos since getting back, but I have started to go through more of my photos from my trip. I spent some time editing together some of my drone footage from Finland.

    Chasing Clear Skies

    Day 2 was a little different to day 1. The weather was not on our side. Thomas didn’t want to head out until later in the evening to maximise the chances of seeing something. He met me at the hotel around 9:30 and we set off north. The biggest challenge tonight was to find clear skies, and to find them we were driving north.

  • Chasing Aurora

    Chasing Aurora

    One of the things I was most eager for on this trip was a chance to see the aurora borealis, or the northern lights. There are also the aurora australis or southern lights that occasionally pop up in the south of Tasmania, but due to geography and physics, they aren’t nearly as strong or prevalent.

    When booking the holiday I looked around to find a guide to take me out to hunt the aurora. There were some options for self supported cabins in the far north of Finland, but that seemed a bit much. I found a guide, Thomas, who operated out of a town called Oulu, about halfway up Finland on the coast, that seemed to be a good compromise. I booked two nights, the theory being if we don’t have good weather on one of the nights I would get a second chance the next day.
